Welcome to Handsworth Photographic Society.
If you’re looking for a friendly photo club in north
Birmingham then look no further.
The Society, one of the oldest in the UK, held its very
first meeting at Soho House, Handsworth, Birmingham, on
7th February 1894. The occasion was a lantern slide
lecture given by Mr F.W.W. Howell F.R.G.S., an
enterprising Icelandic explorer.
|
 |
Today, the Society, which is affiliated to the
Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (P.A.G.B) through
the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (M.C.P.F.),
welcomes photographers of all abilities and caters for
all tastes and levels in photography both film and
digital.
|
The Society meets most Wednesday evenings at 7:45 pm for
8pm from September to June. The varied programme
includes visiting speakers, members’ evenings and
regular club and inter-club competitions.
